Bush Banditos

Bush Banditos

WARNING: a much-deserved and needed polemic follows.

Except for a few blogs (and I mean a few), the only consistently correct coverage (and by this I mean, observance of facts coupled with an appropriate sense of outrage) of the Bush administration's systematic bilking of America over the past 6 years has been in Rolling Stone.

This month features the FIRST honest public accounting for the true cost of the Iraq fiasco I have seen. It was imputed by Joseph Stiglitz, winner of the Nobel Prize for economics, and Linda Bilmes, a professor of public finance at Harvard.

Per previous blog posts here, the true cost of the war in Iraq will be north of $1trillion and probably higher than $2trillion.

Not only is the Iraq war the "largest foreign policy blunder in the history of the United States" (Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) last week on the Senate Floor), it is the most egregious misappropriation of public funds in the history of the world.

As far as I'm concerned, the Bush administration is responsible for all of this: $2Trillion squandered, over 100,000 Iraqi civilians dead, and over 20,000 American casualties including 3,000 American soldiers dead in vain.

Bush and his cronies are amongst the most vile criminal gangs ever to wrest control of a major world government.

The American people have been deceived, robbed, and defamed at the global political table.

And the children of America are destined to pay this mess down for decades to come.

I would prosecute a person for stealing $100 from me. I would expect to be prosecuted for stealing $1 (one dollar) from anyone else. I would expect a public official guilty of financial incompetence on the order of more than several thousand dollars, to step down. I would expect a public official guilty of risking the lives of fellow citizens or misappropriating millions of dollars to be tried and put in jail.

Bush and his co-conspirators, including many Senators and Congresspersons should be tried as war criminals and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law when found guilty of, amongst other things, gross fiscal negligence, conspiracy, grand theft, murder, illegal detention of citizens of America and the world, illegal torture, illegal suppression of 1st amendment rights, and thousands of discrete war atrocities and crimes against humanity to numerous to mention.

Americans! Wake Up and see Bush and his minions for what they are: Deceitful, Arrogant, Condescending, Traitors, Liars, Murderers, and Thieves, who have devalued YOU in the estimation of the rest of the world (both financially, politically and militarily).

The likes of these vermin would raise hives of incipient rebellion on the hides of our great country's founding fathers.
