Mission Accomplished - $2.4 Trillion Squandered

$2.4 Trillion in war costs. Real inflation at 10%+/yr since 2002, Dollar at historical Lows, Oil at $100/bbl, $3Trillion in new federal debt, Cost of Living skyrocketing, Incomes declining. My fellow Americans (I mean the majority of you...the ones who have no real net worth), a group of Plutocrats financially raped you.

Political theater: In the months before the March 2003 Iraq invasion, the Bush administration estimated the Iraq war would cost

"no more than $50 billion."

Reality: The cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan could total $2.4 trillion through the next decade, or nearly $8,000 per man, woman and child in the country, according to a Congressional Budget Office estimate scheduled for release today.

As of Sept. 30, the two wars have cost $604 billion, the CBO says.

Adjusted for inflation, that is higher than the costs of the Korea and Vietnam conflicts, according to the Washington-based Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments.

Meanwhile, the Plutocracy replaces GreenSpin with his clone Bernake...more Fed-driven inflation, more plummeting dollar, more progress toward $100/bbl oil.

PS: did you know the average American's share of federal debt and future off-balance sheet "obligations" is over $175,000. Read the previous post.
